What our clients are saying…
“The combination of the use of their personal stories with their knowledge of the LGBTQ+ community, these facilitators have helped us to create a sense of belong at our institution for our current and any incoming LGBTQ+ faculty, staff and students. After our students took this training last year they came back and asked us to make MED Safe Zone Training mandatory for all future students entering our school of medicine. With a unanimous vote it has been incorporated as a part of our welcome week for all incoming medical students. This is a testament to the personable, professional and purposed encounter we had with these young and gifted facilitators. It is my hope that we continue to build on this relationship and seek to discover new ways we can work together to educate future doctors about caring for patients, mentoring students and communicating with colleagues from the LGBTQ+ community.”
— Jerome Wilcox, Director, Diversity and Inclusion at TCU and UNTHSC School of Medicine
“Lori and Zariah were both incredible to work with. Our company knew we wanted to bring in training around LGBTQ+ inclusivity, but we weren’t sure exactly what format would work best for our colleagues. Lori was patient with me while we worked out the details, and she came up with great options that fit perfectly for our company. Zariah led our training, and was both charismatic and knowledgeable. She made everyone in attendance feel comfortable to ask questions without fear of judgement. I look forward to working with them both on future trainings!”
— Alexa Courtney, Tax Accountant at First American Equipment Finance
“SafeZone training is so important for all professionals, especially those working in direct service, this is why we offer it at Willow every year. It is a great training for people who are both new to the material as well as people who are familiar with the content, every time myself or one of my staff attend this training we always learn something new!”
— Jennifer Sullivan, LMSW, Associate Director of Community Programs at Willow Domestic Violence
“I worked Lori to bring LGBTQ Inclusivity training to our CNB team. Lori's presentation was open, honest, and kept everyone's interest, including our senior leadership. I was able to see tangible changes amongst the staff following the training. Everyone that attended the training walked out with new information to help them in their everyday work. The scheduling process with Lori was smooth and efficient and Lori kept in constant communication to ensure all the logistics were set. We are looking into pursuing future trainings with Lori and her team to continue to foster an LGBTQ Inclusive workplace at CNB!”
-Michelle Pedzich, Senior Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer, Canandaigua National Bank
“Both Kayden and Lori from the SafeZone Initiative have led trainings for our congregation about transgender and non-binary inclusion. Their presentations were thoughtful, honest, and challenging. They really helped our church to think through how to better be welcoming while also making the space for people to ask questions they had previously been afraid to ask another person for fear of saying the wrong thing. By providing educational programs filled with people sharing their stories of being transgender and non-binary, these educators helped to put a face to this issue for our church members. Their trainings drew wide attendance and interest. And the way folks patiently answered questions while also drawing boundaries was an educational experience in and of itself. Our church is much better equipped and informed to welcome people of all genders because of the generous work of the SafeZone Initiative.”
